Sebastian Slotte
Sebastian Slotte (b.1991) is a Norwegian contemporary artist from Bergen.
Sebastian works with acrylic on canvas. He is known for his use of color and expressive approach. He is concerned with authenticity and honesty which is expressed through his intuitive approach.
The pictures are characterized by abstract nature and landscapes with a small human figure. The expression is characterized by a playful use of colour, movement and figurative elements. Sebastian's paintings are characterized by his dynamic compositions, where he uses brushstrokes, color surfaces and shapes to create a sense of both movement and depth.
Sebastian has no formal art education, but his interest in painting developed in adulthood after many years of education and work with social problems and mental health. He has spent a lot of time exploring and experimenting, and through that created his own expression.
In his artistic work, Slotte uses a number of different techniques, and his works open up to several interpretations. He uses paint as a form of expression to process emotions and stories from lived life. His art has a deeper meaning, and several of the images integrate themes such as loneliness, shame, vulnerability, reconciliation, courage and hope. He wants to create a space for reflection and confirmation while at the same time promoting acceptance of reality and a hope for the future.
